Female Jewel Thief, Accomplice Hit Stores in 5 States says FBI

The FBI is looking for a woman and a male accomplice who they think robbed multiple jewelry stores in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee and North Carolina.

Investigators say she pulls out a gun and forces employees into the back where she ties them up before stealing the jewelry.

Most recently they say the woman robbed a Jared in Mebane, NC.

The first robbery was a Jared in Woodstock, GA.

The next robbery was at a Zales in Dawsonville, GA. There she stole jewelry worth $13,000.

A week later a woman robbed a Reeds in Panama City Beach. She hit that one for $40,000.

The next store hit was a Jared Vault in Tanger Outlet Two in Bluffton, South Carolina. The thief was described as wearing a blue or purple striped skirt, a lavender and black brimmed hat according to WJCL.

Police are trying to figure out if the robberies were committed by the same woman.

The methods are similar and all the stores that were robbed were chain stores at large retail shopping/ entertainment plazas.

Today the FBI has released more information on a possible second suspect.

They say a man in his late 30s or early 40s is seen on video removing the front door stop and letting it shut.

The photos appear to show the suspect’s car as a red 2009/ 2010 Honda Civic LX with tinted windows.

The FBI says the suspects should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information can contact the FBI at 904-248-7000.
