A Clemson University alumna has been chosen to perform a special duty before the Clemson Tigers take the field against Alabama’s Crimson Tide in the National Championship.
“Right now, we’re focused on having a safe fight, getting out there and doing it and then landing,” said Manning. “I think it’ll sink in a little later.”
Manning, who will be piloting an F-35 jet, calls this a “one in a lifetime” opportunity. The stadium is just 10 miles away from where he is stationed.
Clemson won’t be the only South Carolina school represented in the flyover. The pilot leading the squadron is a Citadel graduate and a Gamecock fan.
