A Greer teenager was remembered Thursday night as his basketball team took the court for the first time since he died Tuesday night.  18-year-old Nathan Moore had been sick, although 7News is told it wasn’t considered life threatening.

Moore’s death came as a shock to the community as they comforted each other at the basketball game in Greer.

A moment of silence was held before tip-off as both sides of the court came together to remember Nathan.

Nathan’s brother, Kyle, is also on the team; he started the game in honor of his brother.

The Blue Ridge community has been just as supportive by lining the gymnasium with posters in honor of Nathan.

“Tonight’s about recovery, it’s about an opportunity for these two communities to support one another. They’re all going to be on the same team tonight,” says Darryl Nance, Greenville County Director of Athletics.

Visitation for Nathan Moore will be Friday night, from 6 to 8 p-m at Washington Baptist Church on Highway 14 in Greer. The funeral service will be Saturday at 11 am at the church.  The burial will follow in the church cemetery.
