There was no Powerball jackpot winner in South Carolina last night, but Sioban Smith, from Columbia, was the first South Carolinian to come forward with a winning ticket.

Smith was one of the 5 people in our state that won $100,000 last night.

Another 11 players won $50,000.

Smith checked her ticket at 3 a.m. this morning, and told her boyfriend, who was getting ready to go duck hunting, that she matched four numbers.

They then googled to see how much money she had won, and immediately called the Pitt Stop #14, where she bought the ticket, to make sure they were right.

Sure enough, she won $100,000.

Her next call was to her dad, who went with her to claim her prize money.

Smith was shocked, saying “I’ve never won anything in my life.”

She told the clerk at Pitt Stop #14 earlier, “I hope you gave me a winning number.”

With that being said, Pitt Stop #14 will receive $1,000 commission for selling the winning ticket.
