OCONEE COUNTY – A Georgia woman was killed when the car she was riding in crashed into a car traveling in the opposite direction on Interstate 85 early Monday morning near Fair Play.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports the victim – 48 year-old Lam Lee from Chamblee, Georgia died from head trauma. She was a restrained passenger.
The driver of the car lost control and went off the right side of the highway and hit a guard rail.
The car bounced off the guard rail, crossed back left across the lanes and went through the cable barrier.
A man from Marietta, Georgia – driving a 2003 Toyota – on northbound I-85 struck that car on the passenger side.
All three people involved in the accident were wearing seat belts.
The driver of the 2002 Toyota was flown to Greenville Memorial Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the 2003 Toyota was taken to AnMed health by ambulance.
The conditions of the other victims have not been released.
