1 killed, another hurt in Greenville crash on White Horse Rd.

A passenger in a pickup truck died after a wreck on White Horse Road early Friday.

The Greenville County Coroner’s office and Highway Patrol are investigating a wreck on White Horse Road.

The accident was reported around 2:10 a.m. at the intersection with West Blue Ridge Drive.

According to the Highway Patrol, a tractor trailer was driving north on White Horse Road when a pickup truck tried to turn left onto W. Blue Ridge Drive.

The tractor trailer hit the pickup truck on the right side.

A passenger in the pickup truck died.

The coroner identified the victim as 27-year-old Joseph Ray Bryant.

Bryant was from Travelers Rest.

The coroner says he wasn’t wearing a seat belt and died from multiple blunt force trauma.

The driver of the pickup truck was an 18 year old from Travelers Rest.

Troopers say he wasn’t wearing a seat belt, was hurt and trapped in the vehicle.

Rescuers had to cut him from the wreckage.

EMS took him to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the tractor trailer was wearing a seat belt and wasn’t injured.

The vehicles ended up in the parking lot of a restaurant.
