Deputies arrested a man after a chase through parts of Anderson County, Thursday morning.
25-year-old Taher Tommy Darwish has been charged with numerous offenses including failing to stop for blue lights, driving under suspension, reckless driving, possession of stolen goods, and possession of a stolen pistol.
The chase started when Anderson Co. Sheriff’s Deputies tried to stop a red Nissan on Highway 28 with a license plate that had been reported stolen.
Deputies were able to stop the car on Wham Road when the car backed into the path of a patrol car causing a collision. Nobody was injured in the crash.
The Sheriff’s Office says witnesses reported Darwish throwing items from his car that were later recovered by deputies, including a gun and marijuana.
Darwish is being held in the Anderson County Detention Center without bond.
