Panthers pride is taking over the upstate. Especially in Spartanburg where the team spends the summer training. The city is putting its support on display almost everywhere you go.
That’s why it’s hard to walk downtown without running into Panthers banner.
Especially at the beacon drive-in restaurant. Where a giant banner hangs for people to wish the team good luck.
City Officials plan to send the banner to San Francisco for the big game.
“We’re not sure where it’s going to be hanging, but somewhere that the team can see it,” says Mandy Merck, Spartanburg City Special Events Manager.
“We’re proud of the Panthers. We have training camp here every year, it’s a great thing for the city, we love the Panthers and this is going to be our year, looking for a victory,” says Panthers Fan David Sundermann.
Merck says if you want your message on the banner, you better act fast because space is limited.
If you’re a huge Panthers fan and have some free time Thursday morning at 10am. You’re welcome to take a group photo wearing Panthers gear at Morgan Square.
