4th teen charged with murder in Mauldin Bojangles shooting

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office and Police have made a 4th arrest, a 16-year-old girl, in a deadly shooting at a Mauldin Bojangles on Saturday Jan. 30.

Mauldin Police say 19-year-old Savon Jair Allen of Greenville was killed and two others were hurt at the Bojangles restaurant on East Butler Road around 9:30pm.

They have arrested a 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old girl. Both are charged with murder, attempted murder and attempted armed robbery. According to the Mauldin Police, the 16-year-old will be charged as an adult.

They have not released her name or picture. They say she had an active role in the planning and execution of the robbery that led to the shooting.

19-year-old Trevonte Antonio Watts and 19-year-old William Zachary Newton have been charged with murder, attempted murder, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a weapon during the commission of a violent crime.

Both are currently being held at the Greenville County Detention Center without bond.

Watts was shot in the arm during the incident and has since been treated and released from the hospital.

Police have recovered the weapons used during the shooting and say at least two of the guns were stolen.

Detectives say the shooting was drug related.
