Yellow dye spotted, explained in Reedy River

A yellow dye that you may see in the Reedy River is not considered to be a threat.

ReWa staff said Thursday it’s staff identified the dye at the Mauldin Road Water Resource Recovery Facility. We’re told the dye likely came from some industry in the area that manufactures colorants.

ReWa reports the dye will dissipate in the river in the next 24 to 48 hours, but it’s staff will continue to monitor it.

ReWa serves industrial, commercial and residential customers in Greenville County and parts of Anderson, Spartanburg, Pickens and Laurens counties.
