The FBI has become involved in an ethnic intimidation case that is under investigation in Brevard, North Carolina.
The Transylvania Sheriffs Office and the Brevard Police Department have been investigating the incident since early November.
The police department says that three students from Brevard High School went to a home where they thought an African American student lived. They made racial statements and had knives and sticks with them.
Christopher Blackburn, Johnathan Johnson, and a 16-year-old juvenile were arrested in November. Blackburn was charged with racial intimidation and Johnson was charged with aiding and embedding.
The FBI opened a case to help the Department of Justice determine if any federal laws were violated.
