Many in the Upstate will begin the clean up process today after strong winds ripped through the area Wednesday.
The strong winds blew roofs off of buildings and toppled trees, many of which took out power lines on its way down.
At one point, as many as 80,000 homes were without power in the Upstate.
Thursday morning, Duke Energy reports almost 6,200 outages in Spartanburg County, 11,300 in Greenville County and 2,900 in Anderson County.
As of 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Duke Energy reports 2,060 outages in Spartanburg, 2,073 in Greenville and 637 in Anderson.
Spartanburg Police say John B White Boulevard is now reopened after closing from Highpoint Road to East Crescent due to downed power lines across the road.
Shoally Creek Road has also reopened after closing at Highway 9 in Boiling Springs.
USC Upstate and Spartanburg Methodist College were also without power for a time, Wednesday. USC Upstate resumed classes at 1pm after the outage.
