Two men, Roger Dale Franklin II and Joshua Eric Kelley, were charged after a chase and a four-hour manhunt, according to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say shots were fired into a home on Vein Mountain Rd in Nebo around noon on Wednesday.
When they got to the house, deputies say Franklin had already left.
They caught up with Franklin and tried to stop him, but he fled.
The suspects came to a dead end, and Kelley was arrested, but Franklin ran into the woods, deputies say.
This started the four-hour manhunt, and Franklin was finally caught on Brackett Town Rd.
Deputies found a handgun, 68.2 grams of meth, and a large amount of cash in the suspect’s car.
Roger Dale Franklin II was charged with two counts of trafficking methamphetamine, one count of possession of a firearm by a felon, one count of fleeing to elude arrest, and a misdemeanor count of damage to property, according to deputies.
Joshua Eric Kelley was also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.
Kelley was also served with outstanding warrants for failure to appear in court on traffic charges.
