Upstate, WNC power outage update

A spokesperson for Duke Energy says that there are still some windy spots that make it difficult for crews to make repairs.

Crews are continuing to get out scouting and assessing damage in the area.

Ryan Mosier with Duke Energy says they are bringing in extra resources to try to help get the power back on sooner. There is so much damage and so many power poles broken, it could be Saturday before some people have power again, according to officials.

Mosier says for the hardest hit areas of the Upstate and WNC, the power may not be back on until Saturday.  The hardest hit areas are scattered and it’s not confined to a particular area. They hope to get a lot of it fixed today.

Here is the latest outage map on Duke Energy’s website.
