Students at Cleveland Academy got a chance to talk to politicians first hand on Thursday.
US Senator Tim Scott and Congressman John Lewis from Georgia answered their questions via Skype.
They were even able to highlight moments for Black History Month with Lewis sharing his stories from when he marched alongside Martin Luther King, Jr.
“I was very excited because it’s not often that an opportunity like this comes around,” said student Aregus Stewart, “I’m glad that we have the technology now that we can expand over states just to talk to people.”
The district says this was a rare opportunity for students to learn about history first hand from the politicians that experienced it.
