Free healthcare screenings for women in the Upstate

Women in the Upstate have the opportunity to get a free medical screening.

The “Best Chance Network” screenings are done by clinicians with the Sullivan Center.

The Exams will be held March 2, April 6, and May 4 at GHS Hillcrest Memorial Hospital. The free health screenings are for uninsured women ages 40-64. To register, please call (864) 656-3076.

Here are some requirements:

  • You must be a woman between the ages of 40 and 64
  • You cannot have any form of health insurance and you must meet specific income guidelines.

Women will be able to get a breast exam, pelvic exam, blood pressure test, Cholesterol test, and a mammogram assessment, among other tests.

Dr. Erin Thurston with Hillcrest Memorial Hospital says “there’s no reason not to take advantage of these exams because they will be quick and could even save your life.”

To meet the income requirements for the free testing you should calculate as follows:

  • If you’re single you must make less than $23,340
  • Add $8,120 for each additional household member
