Carolina High School was on lockdown Friday morning in Greenville over reported threats posted by a student.
The Greenville County School District reports several students told administrators that a student – not in attendance Friday – posted threats to harm students and staff on social media.
Greenville Deputies identity the student as 17-year-old Jakeese Daquan Taylor.
Law enforcement arrested Taylor Friday morning at a location off school property. Officers say he was charged with disturbing schools and will be tried as an adult.
School administration tells us Taylor posted threats on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram explaining that he was going to shoot up the school.
Officers and school district staff are at Carolina High School on Anderson Road Friday as an additional precaution.
Taylor is being held on $2,184 bond and has been ordered by a judge to undergo a mental health evaluation.
