The Greenville Swamp Rabbits are teaming up with the American Cancer Society and Bon Secores St. Francis Health System to kick off a three game series with the Florida Everblades Friday with their “Stick It” to Cancer fundraising night.
Some proceeds from ticket sales will go toward cancer research.
Cancer survivors will be in the stands treated to VIP box seats, will drop the puck and Dr. Stephen Dyar will sing the National Anthem.
7 News met Debbie Rinehart who spoke about her battle with Multiple Myeloma, a cancer of plasma in the blood.
She struggled through treatment while homeschooling five children ans supporting her husband who is a pastor.
She will be at the game and wants to raise awareness because her cancer was discovered after a friend told her to go to the hospital when she wan’t feeling well at church one day.
She was diagnosed in May 2015 and her cancer is not in remission.
