Buzzard’s Roost wildfire in Buncombe Co., dozens of acres burned

Firefighters in Western North Carolina are battling a fire, Thursday.

The fire happened in Buzzard’s Roost area of Buncombe County shortly before 8 Wednesday night.

Additional resources and personnel were brought in Thursday morning after low humidity and winds caused issues.

The fire is 15-20% contained, but 50 to 60 acres were burned, according to the North Carolina Forestry Service

9 fire departments were on scene along with the Forestry Service Department.

No homes are in danger and no injuries were reported, according to the Forestry Service Department.
