Teens accused of setting fires in Anderson

SLED has charged a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old after fires in Anderson County.

Dylan Cole Mathews, 17, was charged with Arson 3rd Degree, a felony which carries a penalty upon conviction of up to 15-years in prison. SLED says Mathews is also charged with one count of Willfully burning lands of another, a felony that carries a penalty if convicted of a fine of up to $5000 or up to five years in prison.

The 16-year-old was charged with two counts of Arson 3rd Degree, a felony which carries a penalty, if convicted, of up to 15 years in prison. The juvenile was also charged with one county of Willfully burning lands of another, a felony which carries a penalty, if convicted, of a fine of up to $5,000 or up to five years in prison.

This case was investigating by SLED at the request of the Anderson County Fire Department.

Mathews and the juvenile were booked at the Anderson County Detention Center.
