Fire spreads out of control, destroys Hendersonville home

A house was destroyed yesterday after fire got out of control, Wednesday afternoon in Hendersonville.

Our coverage partners at the Hendersonville Times-News report that a man was burning brush behind his Sunset Drive home when wind blew flames onto his porch.

Fire destroyed his house and his Ford SUV nearby.

The homeowner suffered minor burns on his right hand.

The Times-News says neighbors heard explosions and what they described as ammunition going off during the fire.
