Prom dresses given away to teens in Greenville

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA) – Teens in need of a dress for the prom had the chance to get one for free, Saturday.

High school girls were invited to the Phillis Wheatley Center to pick out their dress and accessories.

The organization THINK2XTWICE.ORG sponsored the event to make sure everyone has the opportunity to go to the prom.

“It makes it easier for them – budget-wise and community-wise – we do it for the community,” said organizer Traci Fant.

Fant says they had close to 1,000 dresses to give away at the event.

Anyone with a school ID was able to participate.
