The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Corn Hole Tournament to help raise money for the family of a fallen police officer.
The money raised at the April 16 event will benefit the family of Greenville Police Officer Allen Jacobs. He was shot and killed in the line of duty last month.
The tournament will be held on April 16 starting at 10:00 a.m. in the Gaffney Middle School gym. The school is located at 805 East Frederick Street in Gaffney.
Pre-registration begins at 8:30 a.m. You can contact CCSO Deputy Drew Howard for more information at (864) 492-4577.
There is a $30 fee per team and the winning team will win $200 for first place. The Corn Hole Tournament will use standard rules and will be a double-elimination format.
There will be food and activities for children in the gym. The sheriff says there will also be a Pie-A-Cop In The Face and Dunk-A-Cop booths to raise money for the Jacobs family.
Allen Jacobs was married with two sons. His wife is pregnant and is expecting a girl in July.
