Convenience store robberies under investigation in Spartanburg

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Spartanburg Police are investigating a pair of armed robberies at two QuikTrip convenience stores and a Corner Mart in the city early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the Quick Trip at 448 E. Saint John Street around 2am after a black male with a bald head and wearing a hooded jacket and faded blue jeans took an unknown amount of money from the business. Police released surveillance photos of the suspect wanted in connection with the robbery.

Five hours later an armed robbery occurred at the Quick Trip on W. Main Street in the city limits.

Details about the robbery are limited, but Maj. Art Littlejohn of Spartanburg Police said the suspect also managed to get a small sum of cash.

Spartanburg Police are also looking for a suspect in the robbery of a Corner Mart on North Pine Street. The suspect is believed to have left the scene in a 4-door burgundy car with dark tinted windows.

Littlejohn stated that the suspects in each case are different, but they are not sure if they are related.
