Fire damages Hot Spot store in Greenville Co.

Firefighters were on the scene of a fire at a Hot Spot in Greenville County.

The Hot Spot is at the intersection of Highway 25 and Highway 76 in Honea Path.

Captain Bruce Creamer of Dunklin Fire Department said when crews arrived around 2:30AM they found heavy smoke coming from a storage room and later saw it was fully involved.

Crews were able to get most of the fire out quickly, but the HVAC unit still had fire coming out of it. Creamer says he doesn’t know what caused the fire yet.

All of the employees were outside when crews got there and no one was injured. Creamer says.

Western Lauren and South Greenville fire departments also responded to the scene.

The owner of the convenience store says the building isn’t destroyed but there is a lot of damage that will take a while to clean up.

The road is back open, if you’re headed between Greenville and Greenwood.
