Police arrest men suspected of robbing Spartanburg convenience stores

Two people have been arrested in connection with two separate QuikTrip robberies in Spartanburg, Sunday morning.

Mauldin Police say they arrested a suspect overnight connected to robberies at convenience stores in Spartanburg.  Officers used a Tactical Warrant Team and K9 to make the arrest.  The man was immediately transferred to the Spartanburg Detention Center for booking.

 
37-year-old Nickie Tanner is charged with two counts of Strong Arm Robbery and Resisting Arrest.

Tuesday, a man robbed a Kangaroo gas station on Reidville Rd. around 5 p.m. They say the robber grabbed some cash from the register and ran. No one was hurt.
Spartanburg Police said they thought it was the same suspect, Tanner, as a QT robbery over the weekend on St. John St.

On Tuesday, Spartanburg Police arrested the suspect in a separate QuikTrip armed robbery on West Main Street.

 
39-year-old Brandon Rochard Gilree is charged with Armed Robbery in connection with the incident Sunday morning.
