Deputies in North Carolina charged a man with bringing heroin into jail after he was arrested for a larceny charge.
The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Juan Manuel Steed, 34, of Marion, with felony possession of heroin after he was arrested on April 9.
The sheriff says Steed was arrested and taken to jail for misdemeanor larceny, a probation violation and providing fictitious information to an officer. After he arrived at the jail, we’re told he asked to see a nurse.
Detention officers were later told Steed may have been under the influence of some substance.
Steed was searched as was his cell and police say they found a small amount of heroin.
