Drayton Mills in Spartanburg will play host to the first big community event since a major renovation project.
Tuesday, April 26 from 5 – 8 PM, Converse College’s School of the Arts will present art exhibits, music and theatre performances. It’s part of a community collaboration exploring our relationship to space and culture through the lens of mill culture.
The opening reception will have hors d’oeuvres and Rubino’s Food Truck. Guests will enjoy music and theatre performances, mill house design model by interior design students, and sculpture and activities at meditation spaces along the walking trail. Free trolley transportation is from Twichell Lot at Converse to Drayton Mills.
Drayton Mills is a multimillion dollar development at the 250-acre site owned by Pacolet Milliken. Eventually there will be restaurants, stores, offices, event space and a community center.
