Greenville Co. Schools says a toy “air soft” gun was found on a school bus with Taylors Elementary students on board.
They say the gun shoots small plastic balls.
The bus driver called 911 and returned to the school where the bus was evacuated.
The toy was turned over to law enforcement and they are investigating.
Students will be taken home on a different bus and will get home an hour later.
Greenville Co. schools says these instances are handled on a case-by-case basis taking into account the student’s age, the way the toy was presented and the amount of disruption that was caused as a result.
There were 38 children on board the bus.
No threats were made by the student with the toy gun against any other students on the bus, according to the Greenville County Sheriff’s office.
