The Asheville Police Department is warning women about a man who attempts to lure them down walking trails.
Police say they received reports of this happening on the walking trails surrounding Biltmore Park, Town Square and TC Roberson. The trails are between Pinchot, Columbine, Hearthbrook and Schnek Parkway.
According to reports, the man claims to be a Jehovah’s Witness.
The man is described as white, approximately 6′ tall, 170-180 lbs., early 30s and has light-colored eyes.
“We’re just trying to be proactive,” said Christina Hallingse with the Asheville Police Department. “Like we said, nothing has happened yet, but it doesn’t mean something couldn’t happen in the future.”
