The girls were playing in Ella’s front yard when she noticed her friend choking on a brownie bite.
She gave her friend the Heimlich and saved her life.
Ella’s sister, who was in total shock, asked her where she learned the Heimlich.
Ella said, “Well I didn’t get my Safety Patch for nothing.”
She received the Girl Scout Medal of Honor Wednesday.
The Girl Scouts says the Medal of Honor is given for saving a life or attempting to save a life without risking the candidate’s own life.
