Law Enforcement Officers from Greenville County are on their way to Columbia, carrying the torch for the Special Olympics. They left at 5am Thursday from the Enforcement Center in Greenville.
The Flame of Hope torch run follows a 106-mile route. Once officers arrive at the State House in Columbia Friday, they will make their way to Fort Jackson for the start of the games.
More than 1400 athletes, 250 coaches and hundreds of families, caregivers and volunteers from around the state will attend the games. It’s the 48th straight year for the games.
