SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – The father of a woman who went missing from Spartanburg County in 2014 is pleading for the public’s help for any information in her disappearance and death.
James Goodlett traveled from Texas to speak to the media today about his daughter Nicole Goodlett after 7News aired an interview with the sheriff’s office suspect, Jerald Howard.
Goodlett stated that he would not let his daughter’s reputation be tarnished and that Howard’s claims in the interview with 7News were unfounded.
Howard was scheduled to speak with Sheriff’s office investigators on Wednesday, but did not show up. He has not answered the sheriff’s office phone calls since then.
7News asked the sheriff’s office if there were any claims from the interview on Monday they wanted to publicly dispute. Lt. Kevin Bobo responded by saying Howard’s actions are speaking louder than his words.
Goodlett’s father described each day as being filled with pain, at the loss of their daughter. They are now caring for her children, and say that Howard has stopped communication in trying to contact them.
Goodlett hopes that the justice process will bring them answers into what happened to their daughter.
Deputies are waiting on reports from a forensic anthropologist to determine whether there is any trauma to the bones of Goodlett’s that were recovered in the hometown of Howard.
If anyone has any information regarding the case, you can call the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office, or Crime Stoppers and remain anonymous.
