Greenville County School officials say they’re investigating rumors of a threat to League Academy in Greenville.
As a precaution they added extra law enforcement and district personnel at League Academy until the issue is fully resolved.
The district confirmed that rumors were circulating on social media over the weekend about a vague threat to League Academy.
The district issued the following statement:
After a careful investigation by Greenville County School District officials and Greenville Police, district administrators are confident that there is no credible threat to the safety and welfare of students and staff at League Academy. The origins of the threats have been determined and the individuals responsible are being disciplined and referred to law enforcement for possible criminal charges. The principal at League Academy has kept parents informed via phone message.
