According to the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office, a man is accused of murder after a woman who was found by a road in Woodruff this past March.

The body of Dawn Michelle Harper Allen, 44 was found on March 25th earlier this year by a bicyclist on Davis Rd. She was last seen by friends and family on March 17th.

The Spartanburg County Coroner says Allen died from a closed head trauma and the degenerated wounds to her extremities will be further examined.

Body-Found-Woodruff Investigators with the Sheriff’s Department say they have tested pieces of evidence in this case that lead to the arrest of Rodney Juan Baker, 56 of Reidville.

Baker and the victim lived together some time before her disappearance according to the Sheriff’s Department.

Baker was arrested without incident Monday evening and
taken into the Spartanburg County Detention Center.

He was denied bond and could face 30 years to life in prison. Baker’s next court appearance will be in July.
