TN AMBER ALERT suspect Gary Simpson has now been placed on the Top 10 Most Wanted list.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, they have upgraded the charge to Specially Aggravated Kidnapping.
The reward is now $40,000 collectively, but is not through the TBI.
They say that anyone who is harboring Carlie will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
According to the TBI, Simpson went grocery shopping and spent $80.
Some of the items he bought included 2 loaves of bread, peanut butter and jelly, saltines, soda, paper towels, toilet paper, and dessert products.
Gary Simpson is unemployed and they can’t find any records of him being employed.
TDOT will take the AMBER ALERT off highway signs today.
They usually leave the AMBER ALERT messages up for 2 rush hour cycles, and they have been up for a week.
The TBI encourages property owners to look in barns and out buildings, walk property lines, and look for any signs that they were there (food wrappers, etc.).
There still have been no credible sightings, and air search didn’t turn up any leads last night.
DeVine said “We aren’t playing games, this girl is in danger and we need to get her home.”
