Bank robbed at gunpoint in Mauldin, suspect on run

MAULDIN, S.C. (WSPA) – Mauldin Police officers are searching for a suspected armed bank robber Thursday morning.

A man robbed Park Sterling Bank at 1620 Woodruff Road around 9:35 a.m.

Four public schools and a bus center in the area went on lockdown, but are now off it.

They were:

Mauldin Elementary

Mauldin Middle

Mauldin High

Golden Strip Career Center

Golden Strip Bus Center.

The man was wearing a surgical mask and a floppy, fishing-style hat when he entered the bank according to Mauldin Police Sgt. Ben Ford.

The man had a silver handgun and left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

The suspected robber was also wearing a red, long sleeve shirt with dark pants. He was carrying a black backpack that had a Tiger paw logo.
