Volunteers coming together to help Greenville County veteran

GREENVILLE COUNTY (WSPA)–Volunteers from Home Depot along with Purple Heart Homes Golden Corner Chapter will be out working at the home of a US Air Force Veteran Thursday.

Jerry Patterson served in Korea and Vietnam and had a stroke earlier this year.  Volunteers built a ramp and did some work in the home’s bathroom.  Now, they’ll return to his home near Easley to finish that project and work on landscaping.

Jerry and his wife Lynda say they’re thankful for the help.

“This group is very excellent,” said Lynda. “Not just with my husband but with lots of other people.”

“Anytime they can find a veteran and help them they’ll do it.,” said Jerry.  “All these veterans get together and help you.  They come out here and built that thing.  I was so happy about it really.”
