With whole animals cooked on an open fire right in front of you, wine pairings, a giant paella and a new event space in Traveler’s Rest, Bovinoche 2016 is just hours away! Jennifer Martin talks to grillmaster Jeff Bannister about what is new this year.

Bannister will also reference Bovinoche on national TV next month. He’s starring in a new series “Smoked” on Destination America where two cooks are pitted against each other, competing for a $5,000 prize. Called “Caveman Cookoff,” the episode airs Wednesday June 22 at 10pm on Destination America, showing Bannister as he cooks whole animals in a head to head competition.
