On Monday, May 16, officers found 6 illegal poker machines inside a business at 184 Wallace Rd. in Cowpens, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office.
The owner of the business voluntarily showed the officers the poker machines, where people were playing at the time.
Officers interviewed the players, then seized the 6 machines and $417.00 that was connected to the machines.
Steve Sullivan has been charged with 6-Counts of Gambling/Unlawful Possession of Poker Machines, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
He was arrested and taken to the Cherokee County Detention Center.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Mary Armstrong Long was also ticketed for 1-Count of Gambling, but she was not arrested.
She will appear in court at a later date for her charge.
