Meghan Colleen Dougherty, a former PE teacher at Hillcrest Middle School, has been charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor between the ages of 11-14 years old and intimidating a court official/juror.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office says Dougherty sexually assaulted the same victim in July of 2015 while she was out of jail on bond. The Sheriff’s Office became aware of the incident on May 6, 2016 and found that two additional incidents between the two.
Dougherty also coached volleyball and girls’ soccer at the middle school, and had a clean criminal record when she was hired.
According to records provided by the SC Board of Education, a parent said that Dougherty had “an inappropriate relationship” with her 8th grade daughter.
Dougherty had a bond hearing earlier today and was denied bond.
She was charged with criminal sexual conduct with a student in March 2015. According to Greenville Co. Schools, her teaching certificate was permanently revoked on November 10, 2015.
