MCDONOUGH, Ga. (AP) – Authorities say an 11-year-old girl accused of beating up a six-year-old girl inside a suburban Atlanta elementary school bathroom has been charged.
Henry County Sheriff’s chief deputy David Foster tells the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that the 11-year-old cornered the younger girl in a bathroom, grabbed her hair and struck her head on a toilet multiple times. The incident occurred at Oakland Elementary School on Thursday.
Foster says the teacher heard screams and held the 11-year-old until a school resource officer arrived. The younger girl was taken to Piedmont Henry Hospital after she suffered injuries to her face and head.
Foster says the older girl was charged with false imprisonment, aggravated assault and battery through the Juvenile Court.
Henry County School spokesman John Hardin says the district is investigating the incident.
