SIMPSONVILLE, SC (WSPA) – A Simpsonville fire has claimed a second victim on Friday.
Sharcorrie S. Walker, 11, died 3 days after the early morning fire at her relatives’ house on Beauclair Dr.
She was rescued by a family member and taken to the Augusta Burn Center.
The cause of death is listed as Anoxic brain injury, Carbon monoxide poisoning.
Walker’s cousin, 10-year-old Shawn Demitris Jones III, died after he was pulled from the fire.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:57 a.m.
He was a 5th grader at Fork Shoals Elementary School.
This case is being investigated by the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. Canebreak Fire District investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
