CRAMLINTON, NORTHUMBERLAND (WSPA)- Tommee Tippee says it’s recalling about 3.1 million of its spill-proof sippee cups due to a mold hazard.
According to the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission’s website, the sippee Tommee Tippee Sippee spill-proof cups are being recalled because mold can develop on the removable, one-piece, white valve.
The cups are considered a hazard if they stay wet and is not cleaned often. The mold ingestion poses a risk of gastrointestinal symptoms and infections in consumers with compromised immune systems.
The recall includes five types of the Tommee Tippee Sippee spill-proof cups:
- First Sips Transition cup
- Trainer Sippee cup
- Sippee cup (including Cute Quips)
- Sportee bottle
- Insulated Swiggle/Sippee tumblers
These items are sold at BuyBuy Baby, CVS, Giant, Kohl’s, Marco Baby, Marshalls, Meijer, Sam’s Club, Ross Stores, Target, Bealls Outlet, Walgreens and Wal-Mart and other mass merchandise stores nationwide and online at Amazon.com, Babyhaven.com, and Diapers.com from December 2014 through May 2016 for between $4 and $7.
