God’s Pantry of SC is suspending operations indefinitely, according to press release from their executive committee.
The organization provides emergency food assistance to families in the Upstate.
They say the purpose of this suspension is to review and address the current financial needs of the organization, because expenses are currently outpacing donations and income.
They will be looking at possible additional income and where they get the food.
They currently get support from private individuals, business and church groups.
They say they hope to have a plan together by mid-June.
“At this time our current income sources are not able to keep pace with the organizations expenses. We are taking a hard look at where we can cut expenses and how to best focus our resources for the good of the community. As well, we are looking at how we can leverage our existing model to provide a more “hand up” approach to helping our families.” – Mike Conklin, Executive Director.
