High speed chase in Anderson County tops 100MPH, driver identified

A driver led state troopers on a high speed chase Sunday morning.

Anderson County ChaseLaw enforcement originally tried to pull Stacy Edward Lawson, 41, over on I-85 near mile marker 24.

Our crew at the scene says Lawson sped off, reaching speeds more than 100 miles per hour.

According to the incident report, the 2010 Chevrolet HHR was listed as stolen through the NCIC database.

Anderson County deputies deployed stop sticks at mile marker 14 and the Lawson ran over them.

Lawson was taken into custody and faces the following charges: driving without a license, driving under the influence, open container of beer/wine, fail to stop for blue lights, and possession of a stolen vehicle.
