PICS: Firefighters battle church fire in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – Firefighters are battling a fire at Union Baptist Church on Union Church Road, according to Chief Ken Taylor with the South Greenville Fire Department.

Taylor says the fire was reported around 2:30 p.m.

Firefighters say they were on the scene 2 minutes after the call came in and the building was heavily involved.

They say the brick building is a complete loss and only the exterior walls remain.

Right now, firefighters are working to extinguish the fire and put out all of the hot spots as quickly as possible.

Belmont Fire is also helping.

They’re not sure what started the fire, but it’s under investigation right now.

There are no injuries reported at this time.
