Webb, Jones Taken In MLB Draft

USC RHP Braden Webb was taken by the Milwaukee Brewers in the third round of Friday’s MLB Draft.

Webb, 10-5 in his freshman season at USC but draft eligible because of his age, was the fifth player taken in that round.

Two picks later, the Miami Marlins selected Laurens OF Thomas Jones, who hit over .400 as a senior for the Raiders.

Both players were Top 100 Draft Prospects according to Baseball America Magazine.

Jones is a Vanderbilt signee.

Marcus Mooney, SS, USC, 10th Round, Braves

Alex Bostic, LHP, Clemson, 10th Round, Giants

Gene Cone, OF, USC, 10th Round, Mets
