McDOWELL COUNTY, NC (WSPA) A 19-year old North Carolina man was arrested after deputies say he fired a gun into a home after a dispute with a neighbor.
Dylan Joseph Lowery, 19, was charged with one felony count of discharging a weapon into an occupied dwelling and two misdemeanor counts of criminal damage to property by the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office. He’s also charged by the same office with assault on a female, possession of up to ½ ounce marijuana and underage consumption of alcohol.
Investigators say they were called twice to a home on Fern Valley Drive on May 23. We’re told Lowery’s dog was found in the neighbor’s yard where it was chasing that family’s chickens. That homeowner shot the dog according to deputies.
A neighbor reported seeing Lowery fire shots at the neighbor’s home. Bullet holes were found in the side of the home and in their swimming pool according to the sheriff.
Deputies were also called to a home on Randolph Road on the evening of May 23. The homeowner says Lowery fought with her nephew and hit her 12-year-old daughter in the head.
Deputies say they found and arrested Lowery in a wooded area where he was drinking alcohol and had a bag with marijuana next to him.
