SPARTANBURG (WSPA) A Spartanburg man was arrested after deputies say they discovered he had 18 unpaid traffic citations that dated back more than 20 years.
Robin Morman Jones, 37, was taken into custody by Spartanburg County Sheriff’s deputies after he was pulled over Sunday evening on South Church Street. The deputy says he stopped Jones when he made an illegal turn onto Church Street from South Avenue.
Jones told the deputy he didn’t have a valid driver’s license and handed a South Carolina identification card to him. The incident report states a check of Jones’ license status revealed he had 18 unpaid traffic citations that dated back to April 27, 1996.
The deputy adds the South Carolina Highway Patrol had active warrants for Jones for reckless driving, failure to stop for blue lights and driving under suspension.
Jones was charged in this incident with driving under suspension first offense and a warning for improper turn violation by the Spartanburg County deputy.
He was booked into the Spartanburg County detention Center Sunday evening and was released early Monday morning.
